Dr. Christopher Rusinek
Dr. Christopher S. Rusinek completed his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI and Internal Medicine internship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. For the remainder of his residency in ophthalmology, he returned to Michigan where he was appointed chief resident of the Henry Ford Hospital. He then completed his corneal and refractive fellowship at the Louisiana State University Eye Center where he served on the teaching faculty until being displaced by Hurricane Katrina. In addition to his studies in the diseases of the cornea, he received additional refractive training in LASIK and Photo Refractive Keratotomy (PRK) under Dr. Herbert Kaufman, one of the pioneers and leading LASIK experts in the country.
Dr. Rusinek offers a variety of vision options and the commitment to uncompromising excellence in care to all his patients. Dr. Rusinek is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and trained refractive surgeon specializing in both LASIK and Photorefractive Keratotomy (PRK). He welcomes patients for the care of glaucoma, diabetes, dry eye, macular degeneration, cataracts, ocular infections, corneal disease and general eye exams. He also specializes in no-stitch cataract surgery, corneal transplants, pterygium removal, glaucoma laser surgery and minor eyelid procedures.
Active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons and the North Carolina Society of Eye Physician Surgeons.
